How we score every casino

Every casino we can match you with has already been through the same process, whether or not it ends up being your match. Here’s exactly what that involves.

The Safety Index, out of 10

One number, built from four things we check directly rather than take an operator’s word for:

• Licensing — a currently valid licence from a recognised gambling regulator (Malta, the UK, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Curaçao and similar authorities all count), checked against that regulator’s own public register
• Payout speed — how long our own withdrawal actually took to clear, not the number in the FAQ
• Complaint history — unresolved player disputes we can find, and how the operator responded to them
• Terms clarity — whether the bonus wagering, expiry, and game-weighting rules match what’s advertised on the page that sells the bonus

Licensing versus country availability

A gambling licence isn’t tied to your country — it’s issued by a regulator, and plenty of well-run casinos hold a single licence (say, from Malta or Curaçao) that many countries are happy to let their residents play under. A handful of markets — the UK, Ontario and Sweden among them — require operators to hold a licence local to that market specifically, and we treat that as a hard requirement there. Everywhere else, “licensed” and “accepts players from your country” are two separate checks: we confirm the operator holds a recognised licence in good standing, then separately confirm it actually accepts players from where you are, before it can ever become your match.

Where your match comes from
